Today, British Columbia’s Bass Coast Festival unveils the first wave of artists performing at this year’s event, which runs July 7-10, 2023. Celebrating its 15th year, Bass Coast has a global reputation for showcasing innovative international artists alongside emerging and cutting-edge Canadian talent.

The 2023 musical curation features world-renowned French producer CloZee, Germany’s emotive Christian Löffler, house & techno icons Move D, Delano Smith, Marcellus Pittman & Justin Martin, UK’s dubstep dynamos Sicaria & Hamdi, Ecuadorian DJ and house producer Nicola Cruz (Dj Set), rugged breakbeat and jungle stalwart Special Request, hip-house producer and M/C Galcher Lustwerk, Canadian funk, soul and hip-hop impresarios The Funk Hunters and of course, Bass Coast festival co-founder and The Librarian.

Also included in this first release are boundary pushing Batu, party starter Bianca Oblivion, the mysterious electro Client_03, Ninja Tune recording artist Elkka (DJ Set), Interplanetary Criminal who delivered one of the biggest tunes of 2022, California favourites dance floor controllers Nala & Ardalan, and Canadian eclectic Chinese / Canadian producer Yu Su.

"Each of the artists in this first wave has made a unique contribution to the evolution of electronic music." explains Bass Coast Co-founder and Musical Director Andrea Graham. "We curate our lineups with the sounds of tomorrow in mind, always striving to balance familiarity with innovation.”

Future announcements will include more musical artists, numerous large scale, interactive art installations, a range of performance artists, workshops, yoga and movement classes and more.

Limiting capacity to just 6500 attendees has positioned the artist-owned and operated event as an innovative boutique experience in an industry increasingly focused on large scale events. “We are incredibly appreciative of the dedicated and creative Bass Coast community. It’s because of you that Bass Coast continues to thrive amidst post pandemic challenges facing the festival industry..” -  Liz Thomson, Bass Coast Co-Founder and Art Director.

"The festival is a near-perfect confluence of people and music that represents the diverse but specific Western Canadian scene like few other events in the province. It's all held together by a strong community spirit." - Resident Advisor
