Night Vision: Take Us to Bass Coast 2023!
Bass Coast 2023 will be upon us in only 3 short weeks, and the Night Vision crew would like to make a quick toast to this incredible festival and all of the amazing memories it’s brought to our lives! 🥂
A few of our crew members first took the Bass Coast plunge back in 2012, on the final year of the festival’s reign in Squamish, BC. Since then, we’ve been hooked. Bass Coast has never compromised on curation, creativity or community; the festival has always had a unique energy that feels both fun and forward-thinking.
The attention to detail at Bass Coast is like no other; a globally-recognized production of art and music with offerings that push boundaries and leave us inspired well beyond the weekend. For the 15th year, we anticipate nothing but the best and we’re thrilled to return to the festival lineup for another Night Vision Showcase (10 AM to 1:30 PM, Sunday @ The Cantina).
Check out our top picks from this year’s lineup and get to know the artists representing Night Vision at our 2023 showcase:
JOLUCA’S TOP PICKS:
ELKKA
She was one I was most eager to see when I attended Portola in San Francisco last year. Unfortunately, at the last minute she had to cancel her performance. Since then, I have eagerly awaited the opportunity to finally experience her show. Her recent DJ-Kicks serves as a prime example of why I am determined not to miss this upcoming set.
SPECIAL REQUEST
Been a big fan of Special Request for an extended period, and have always enjoyed throwing in a song or two in my sets. I’m very excited to witness his performances as both Special Request and Paul Woolford, truly experiencing the best of both worlds.
INTERPLANETARY CRIMINAL
It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who knows me that this particular DJ is currently one of my favorite producers from the UK. For the past few years, he’s been a prominent figure in the UK garage renaissance. Not an easy act to bring to Canada at the moment so I can speak on behalf of Night Vision that we’re all honored to see him. Can’t wait to see the Bass Coast dance floor erupt for this one.
CORE MEMORIES FROM BASS COAST…
From witnessing Roman Fluegel's captivating performance in the rain at the Radio stage, to the unforgettable 3hr daytime parties orchestrated by Justin Martin, to the shenanigans off and on the dance floor, and not to mention the breathtaking sunrise sets to close out each day. The cherished memories I hold closest to me from Bass Coast are a testament to the incredible people who attend each year and contribute to the festival's uniqueness. It's truly difficult to select just one memorable experience among such a vibrant community and festival.

CEEEVS’ TOP PICKS:
GHOSTWHIP
My heart skipped a beat when I saw Ghostwhip on the lineup. His productions are in my top played and I can’t wait to absolutely lose it IRL. I have every ounce of faith that Ghostwhip will take us there: mind, booty and soul. Posse Up!
HOOD JOPLIN
So pumped to see Edmonton homie Hood Joplin on the lineup this year. Her club sets are everything I ever want to hear on a system, her mixes are fire and her productions are on par with the finest in her lane. Every time Hood Joplin releases anything I’m there, on repeat. LFG.
CLIENT_03
I’m ready for heavy electro chaos. Send me to space!
A CORE MEMORY FROM BASS COAST WAS… Dane’s Boiler Room set at the Cantina. Arguably the best moment of all our lives.

DAILEY’S TOP PICKS:
ELKKA
Elkka’s Boiler room was one of my personal favourites from last year. She plays through a variety of genres and leaves dancers with the feeling of anticipation after every track. Her performance makes a strong front runner for the most anticipated set of the festival.
DANE
Hometown legend and personal hero. He’s truly a master of his craft and he proves that every year regardless of stage or time. His set at the Cabin last year was one of my top 3 and surely not one to be missed this year.
MAX ULIS
Always a treat to see what Max has cooked up in his Vintage Synth Museum of a studio. Year after year, his sets are a festival highlight. Whether it’s peak time Slay bay, or 6 AM at The Cabin, his crates got just the track.
CORE MEMORIES FROM BASS COAST…
Leo Pol @ Slay Bay 2022
Detroit Swindle @ Radio 2015
Roman Flügel @ Radio 2017

DUNMORE PARK’S TOP PICKS:
SICARIA
It can’t all be 4/4! I had such a blast at her set last year that I’m really excited to see her again. I don’t typically go in for dubstep, but when it’s done like Sicaria, I always find myself hypnotized from start to finish.
JOHN ROLODEX
If you know John, you know he’s quietly built a name as one of Canada’s drum & bass heroes. He’s also an amazing guy and a wildly talented producer. I think this is his Bass Coast debut and I can’t wait to see what he brings to the table.
GALCHER LUSTWERK
I have such a soft spot for talky vocals over lush, underground house music. He’s one artist that I always check out his new releases and I haven’t seen him perform in many years. I’ll be front row centre.
CORE MEMORIES FROM BASS COAST…
Oh this is impossible. Who can pick just one? Last year I got the chance to open the brand-new Cabin stage, and that was pretty much a dream come true. The amount of work that goes into building something like that is incredible.
Another highlight was Justin Martin’s first day-time set back in 2018, it was just 3 hours of complete house-music bliss in the sun. What’s better than that?
